Drapeology

I know...I know...it's been a good while since the last post. The good news is that we are back and this time - we're here to stay! Lot's to catch up on and update you with so no shortage of lovley-ness to blog about.

Thought I'd kick things off by letting you all know about our shiny new draping and uplighting services. It's by far one of the best ways to transform an event space and guarantee those 'ooooo's' and 'ahhhhh's' from your guests. Best of all our system is quick and easy to install and kind to the back pocket to...

Stay tuned for images of some of our most recent 'drapology' treatments...

Gerbera Gems

I'm always on the hunt for affordable, stylish and creative centrepiece ideas.  Gerberas are great fun and well priced all year around.  The blooms are bold, colourful and fun but can sometimes look a bit toooo simple and not as eye-catching as you may like.  Why not give them a Brocade makeover! Dig out those gems and get sticking...

Red and blue is one of my favourite colour combos at the moment. But it's so darn hard to get hold of blue flowers to add that shot of colour to centrepieces. Solution? Accessorise...

Quirky Table Numbers

Loving this idea for numbering guest tables. The key to keeping it classy is to frame the playing cards and also add a background that ties in with the rest of your colour theme. Ace idea (pun totally intended)

Mood Board : Vintage Romance

Ahhh… My heart melts every time I see ‘vintage’ and ‘romance’ in the same grammar space! We have been getting a sneaky feeling that 2010 is the year for what we’re dubbing ‘A Vintage Romance!’

I'll let the mood board get you into the dreamy 'days gone by' romance mood…

Faking It!

So Zuleka and I took a field trip to our sundries supplier in Birmingham last week.

I must admit my heart was racing a little as we approached the double doors to what I can only describe as a haven for girls who LOVE walking around places ooo-ing, ahh-ing and constantly comment on how lovely, pretty and wow things are ... Well I definitely felt at home!

The place was filled with rows and stacks of endless glass vases, quaint planters, ribbons, candles and wait for it...SILK FLOWERS that all looked absolutely real! The colours, the size, shape and detail on each flower down to the stem was impeccable.  Now honestly I have never really been one for silk flowers but  I can safely say that everything has changed! I just feel different and love at first sight definitely applies here!

Hydrangea, peonies (one of  my favourite), roses, carnations, tulips  ..the list goes on and on and on! At Brocade Events we do at times use silk flowers in arrangement.  Sometimes mixed with real ones, or to create flower balls using but always done right - and with a stock like this with every flower at our very finger tips, silk flower arrangements at your wedding could be the big thing for 2010!
